Timing examples =============== These codes and scripts can be used to test the code's performance. The program timing_test.cc creates a container with 100000 particles, and then times the computation of all the cells in the container, using the dummy function compute_all_cells(). The code will compile and run in the usual way, but it can also be tuned using the preprocessor macro NNN to configure the grid size. The perl script timing_test.pl will compile and run the program multiple times for NNN in the range 10 to 40. For each value of NNN, it carries out three runs, and prints a mean and standard deviation of times.
